Housing Market Continues to Improve!

agent risingThe housing market continues to improve with the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® reporting that sales as well as home prices have increased into the double digits in September compared to September 2012.

According to 2013 MAR President Kimberly Allard-Moccia, broker owner of Century 21 Professionals in Braintree, "September closed sales and prices was another example of buyer demand outpacing housing supply and that resulted in the most closed sales in a September since 2005. Interest rates are still low and qualified buyers are still there, but what we need now to get to full recovery is those sellers who are holding off, to make the commitment to sell."

It was reported that 4,289 detached single family homes sold September 2013, this shows a 17.2% increase from last year. Additionally, this is the 6th straight month of increases and the most closed sales of any September since 2005. This is a significant increase for the housing market, which continues to show a strengthening market. Not only is the market improving but home values are also increasing, with the median selling price for single family homes being $325,000 which is an increase of 11.9% from September 2012.

So what does this mean for you? This is a great time to get into the real estate business! If you've been thinking of making a career change now is an exciting time to learn the business.
