Buyers are more serious in the winter and are ready to make an offer. Get your home ready for the inevitable showings. Make sure you shovel well. Use a good old shovel or snowblower to clean all the paths going all around the house. People will want to peek in the garage and see the entire property.  If there is ice, break out the ice melt to keep the paths clear and slip free.

Houses tend to look a little drab in the winter. Add some curb appeal like a colorful, seasonal wreath or topiaries on the porch. Do this early, so they can be included in your listing photos. Scrub your windows to let as much light in as possible and don't forget to turn lights on. They can really brighten up a home on a cold, winter day.

Don't scrimp on the heat. Make sure you turn it up for the showings so the house is warm and cozy. If you have a woodstove or fireplace, light them up.  This can greatly enhance the appeal of the home. Try to be flexible for showings. The more the house is shown, the better possibility a buyer will love the home and decide to put an offer in. Winter buyers are serious. There is a reason they are looking now. Make sure you are showing ready.
